The Season Paper adventure started when Julie Costaz and Mélissa Le Vaguerèse met as textile design students at the ENSCI industrial design school, where they found out they had many tastes and interests in common. A few years after graduation, they launched their own stationery brand, a creative, refined and original line with a bit of a retro look. These two designers’ imagination is endless, and the collections that are born out of their atelier in Montreuil are now available all around the globe!
5 questions to the designers
Who are you?
We are Julie and Mélissa, freelance textile designers. We work in our own textile design atelier, Season, where we draw collections of designs for ready-to-wear clothing and home decoration. In 2012, we decided to publish our designs ourselves, so we created Season Paper Collection, our stationery brand.
Give us 3 words that describe your universe.
Hand-drawn, vintage, feminine.
Where do you get your inspiration?
We don’t have any set of rules or specific creative processes. The street, books, art exhibitions, holidays, just walking around, listening to music… Anything can be a source of inspiration
Where do you make your products?
All our products are made in France, whether in Paris or in the provinces.
“Made in France”: why that choice?
We want to work with companies that are close to us, and to be able to really follow up on the manufacturing processes for our products. It is crucial for us to have a real relationship with our partners, and to learn from their know-how. We are also extremely careful about the materials we use. All our paper comes from sustainable forests, and a vast majority of our products are printed with vegetable-based ink.
