Collection: Andrée Sorant

In an approach of textile research and reinterpretation of classic accessories, the designer of Andrée Sorant creates the Col Claude. Unisex accessory, inspired by the Twist Collar of the 60s, it becomes an alternative to the bow tie and the tie. More than a simple accessory, Andrée Sorant collars are a refined and contemporary signature.

5 questions to the designer

Who are you?
Louise, fashion designer and creator of the “Col Claude”, a unisex accessory that offers an alternative to bow ties, neckties and ascot ties.

Give us 3 words that describe your universe.
Graphic, retro-chic, modern.

Where do you get your inspiration?
Anywhere really. A city, an art exhibition, a picture, a landscape, a movie… But I also have long-standing influences, such as architecture, modern painting, pictures of my grandmother (my brand is named after her) and her time — the 1950’s…

Where do you make your products?
In Roubaix and Lyon, two historical landmarks of French textile production.

“Made in France”: why that choice?
To be coherent with my ethical beliefs. When I worked for the retail industry, I felt at odds with “disposable fashion”; so when I started my first line of accessories, I did not think twice about producing in France. As a creator, I believe it is crucial to honor and preserve quality and traditional skills.
